Background.
Tedx UTulsa requested a logo for their 2022 event that featured speakers like Larry Fleury, Tyrance Billingsley II, and Myranda New. The client was very clear regarding "New Horizons" as a theme, expressing interest in the Tulsa skyline. Chosen from a variety of options, the above design features silhouettes of downtown's
most recognizable buildings.
Inspiration and Process.
My color scheme was already decided by the TedX brand identity. Using red, white, and black, I wanted to focus on certain images related to Tulsa - skyline and city flag. These seemed to capture the idea of new horizons, specific to Tulsa's intellectual expansion and new opportunities. Below, negative space creates
the skyline, while these shapes also mimic the Osage shield seen on the flag.
