Background.

1. Brainstorming & Connections

In a project's beginning, I note what the client is looking for when it comes to design. There have definitely been times when this factor gets glossed over while brainstorming, leading to a completely different creative direction than is desired. The colors were drawn from the TAST Logo, and the circular motifs built upon a trifold brochure that had already been designed in-house for the event. I moved forward with this, building it into something unique and intentional. What was originally an accent took center stage.

2. Inspiration & Sketches

When it came to inspiration, I wanted to focus in on something simple, clean, and seamless. Bauhaus geometric designs were so full of motion, but all the shapes remained in balance still. Various patterns took on different personalities, becoming the two options seen in the above sketchbook. Following this step, I would flesh out the layout and color interactions, then move into rounds of revisions.
