Background.
The client, University of Tulsa’s Department of Women’s and Gender Studies, needed print and digital signage for a guest lecturer. Professor Carolyn Roberts provided a historical perspective on race, medicine, and COVID-19; her backgrounds in African American Studies, History of Science, and History of Medicine speak for themselves. As stated on the poster, “the crisis caused by COVID-19 offers a critical opportunity to consider the historical legacies that have shaped health disparities.”
Inspiration and Process.
While the scope for design was more limited, this project provided a chance to arrange information, communicate with a client from the department who needed support in acquiring resources, and complete deliverables in a short window of time. The digital signage was distributed via email, and both generated an interest in the event.
